Blinds and flooring in Hermanus
We work throughout Hermanus and see clients by appointment, and we cover Kleinmond on the same basis. Our showroom is in Gansbaai, forty minutes down the coast, so rather than asking you to drive we bring the sample books to your house and measure in the room the blinds or the floor are going into.
What a coastal house needs
Hermanus houses have the same two problems as ours in Gansbaai: salt in the air, and humidity that swings. Both decide what lasts and what does not.
Floors that hold up
Engineered wood outperforms solid timber near the sea, because its layered core stays stable as humidity moves. Vinyl and novilon are the most water tolerant floors we lay.
Windows on the sea front
Aluminium is our most affordable venetian, but it is not the most suitable option right on the water. Worth a conversation about your particular house rather than choosing on price.
Houses that stand empty
A holiday house shut up for months wants materials chosen for neglect rather than for looks. Tell us the house stands empty and we will factor it in.
West-facing rooms
A solar screen roller cuts glare and much of the heat while you keep the view. Be realistic though — you will still feel radiant heat through any blind at a sunny window.

You call or send the form

We come out with samples
We measure on site and you choose colours in your own light, which is the only way to judge a fabric or a floor properly. Take samples and hold them up at the window.

Questions we get from Hermanus
Is there a showroom in Hermanus?
No. The showroom is in Gansbaai, at Shop 2, Protea Centre, Main Road, open Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 12:30. In Hermanus we work by appointment and bring the samples to you.
Do you charge to come out?
No. The survey and the estimate are free, and we take the measurements ourselves — which also means we carry the responsibility if a custom blind is made to the wrong size.
How long will it take?
Blinds normally take around two weeks to be delivered, because every one is custom made. Flooring depends on the range and the subfloor — our self-levelling screed is 2 to 3 mm and dries overnight, so we can usually fit the following day.
