All our blinds are custom made to fit perfectly, from small bathroom windows to large sliding doors. We supply and install wood, aluminium, fabric and bamboo, in venetians, rollers and verticals — and we are the main agent for Luminos Blinds in the area.

Wood venetians
Warm timber slats for living rooms and studies, stained or painted to suit the room. Simuwood is the more affordable lookalike if the timber price is a stretch.

Aluminium venetians
Our most affordable venetian, hard-wearing and easy to wipe down — good above a stove or in an office. Not the most suitable option right on the coast, so ask us first.

Roller blinds
A single fabric panel on a neat roll. The simplest, most versatile blind, in fabrics from translucent sheer through to full blockout.
Dual vision rollers
Banded fabric that shifts from open view to full privacy without losing the light. Sold by Luminos as the Doppio.
Vertical blinds
The workhorse for large sliding doors and commercial windows, in dim-out, blackout and solar screen fabrics. Also in PVC insert and timber slats.

Bamboo
A natural woven texture that filters light softly. Well suited to bedrooms and guesthouses.
Need them in a week rather than two?
Blinds normally take around two weeks, because every one is custom made to your measurements. Where that does not work — a house going on the market, guests arriving, a build running to a deadline — we can put your order through on express and have it in around a week.
It costs 25% more, and we will tell you that up front rather than at the end. Most people do not need it. When you do, it is worth knowing it exists.

The Lumi range
The designer fabrics — Voile and Voile Deluxe sheers, the pleated Plissé, honeycomb Cel for insulation, and the curved Wave.
Panel blinds
Wide fabric panels that slide across each other. Made for very large openings, and doubles as a room divider.
Roman blinds
The soft folds of a roman blind on a roller mechanism, for a more decorated look than a flat roller.
Outdoor & ZIIP screens
For stoeps and patios that catch the south-easter. The ZIIP zip-track system seals the fabric into a channel down both sides, so the wind cannot get past the edges.

PVC folding doors up to 6 m wide as a room divider. They stack away flat, so they suit rooms with no space for a swing door.
Luminos manufacture in South Africa and have been at it for over three decades. Being their main agent in this area is what gets us the full range, the trade backing when something needs sorting out, and the sample books to bring to your house.
Colours and finishes
There is no shortlist to show you here, because the fabric and colour range runs to hundreds of options and it changes as the mills release new lines. Choosing from a screen is also the fastest way to be disappointed — a colour behaves differently in your own light.
So we bring the sample books to you, or you page through them at the showroom in Gansbaai. Take the samples home and hold them up at the window before you commit.
Venetians
A full range of paint and stain colours, with custom colour matching if you need it to meet an existing finish.
On 50 mm wood venetians we can go further and match the slats to any colour in the Plascon range — the same colour as your walls, or your cabinetry. It is a pricy option and we will be straight with you about what it costs, but if you want an exact match it can be done.
Fabrics
Graded by how much light they let through — sheer, dim-out, solar screen and blackout — then by colour and texture within each grade. Verticals come with a chain and weights, or with the weights sewn into the slats for a cleaner finish.
Free samples
Take a few home at no charge. All we ask is that you bring them back so the next customer can see them.
Before you replace it, ask us whether it can be fixed
A blind that has stopped working is often a mechanism or a broken part rather than a blind at the end of its life. We repair where a repair makes sense — restringing venetians, replacing broken components — which is usually a fraction of the cost of a new one.
Restringing venetians
A venetian that will not lift evenly, or has a snapped cord, can usually be restrung rather than replaced. The slats themselves are normally fine.
Broken parts and mechanisms
A roller that will not hold its position is usually the clutch, not the fabric. Vertical slats that hang crooked are often a broken carrier in the headrail. Both are replaceable parts.
The honest limitation
We can only repair a blind where our parts fit it. Plenty of blinds were made by manufacturers we do not carry, and no amount of goodwill makes the wrong component work. Send us a photo and we will tell you straight away.
When replacing is the better call
Warped timber slats, a sun-perished fabric or a blind that has had several repairs already is money better spent on a new one. We will say so rather than take the repair.
