These are the questions customers phone us about most. If yours is not here, call the showroom and ask — we would rather give you the answer before you order than after.
Most blinds installations are finished in a single visit. Flooring depends on the area and the subfloor: a normal bedroom or living room is usually a one-day job, while a full house or a commercial floor is planned over several days. We confirm the working days on your quote before we start.
Blinds normally take around two weeks to be delivered, because every blind is custom made to your measurements. We phone you to arrange the fitting as soon as the order arrives from the supplier.
Our self-levelling screed is only 2 to 3 mm thick, so it dries overnight and we can fit the floor the following day. A thick traditional sand-cement screed laid during a build is a different matter and needs weeks to dry, so we test the moisture before laying on one.
Dust regularly with a soft brush, a duster or a vacuum brush attachment, working along the slats rather than across them.
Never a mop and bucket. Sweep or vacuum first, then spray the floor lightly with water and clean it with a microfibre mop.
Yes. Blinds normally take around two weeks because every one is custom made, but we can put an order through on our express service and have it in around a week.
Express costs 25% more, and we tell you that up front. Worth it for a house going on the market, guests arriving, or a build running to a deadline.
Put a UV blocking tint on the glass. Ultraviolet is what degrades a blind over the years, and a tint takes it out before it ever reaches the fabric. Clear tinting is available that cuts UV without darkening the room.
Blinds are made for light control and privacy rather than as sun barriers, and sun damage is excluded from manufacturer warranties — so on a window that bakes, the tint is the sensible investment.
Often yes, and it costs a fraction of a replacement. A blind that has stopped working is frequently a mechanism or a broken part rather than a blind at the end of its life. We restring venetians and replace broken components such as roller clutches and vertical carriers.
The one limitation is that we can only repair a blind where our parts fit it, and plenty of blinds were made by manufacturers we do not carry. Send us a photo of the blind and the part that has failed and we will tell you straight away, before anyone drives anywhere.
Where a repair is not worth it — warped timber slats, sun-perished fabric, or a blind that has been repaired several times already — we will say so rather than take the work. More on repairs →
Our blinds carry a three year manufacturer's warranty, and our own workmanship is guaranteed for twelve months. Flooring warranties differ by product and supplier, so rather than advertise one blanket number we state exactly what your product carries in writing on your quote. Full detail is in our terms and conditions.
What we guarantee across everything is the selection. Every range we stock is hand picked and personally curated, and we do not carry products that fail in coastal conditions.
Our own in-house team does most of our work, and the people who measure your room are usually the people who install it.
Specialised work goes to installers we have hand picked and worked with for years — chosen the same way we choose our products. Either way you deal with us, we manage the job, and we answer for the workmanship. We tell you up front who will be on site.
Our showroom is at Shop 2, Protea Centre, Main Road, Gansbaai — Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00, Saturday 09:00 to 12:30. In Hermanus we work by appointment.

Residential and commercial work both, and no project is too small. If you are not sure whether you fall in our area, phone and ask.
